Android Market App, Skype Review: Let’s Chat!

We love Skype. and our founder, Ken Muise, is in the military and currently displaced from his family.  He uses Skype to communicate with his daughters and wife over 400 miles away on a daily basis.  He just can’t get enough of Skype.  The best thing about Skype for the Android Market is that he can video chat with his family no matter where he is-along as he has his Android device.

Skype isn’t new.  And Skype for Android is relatively “old news” but the admin demanded that we do a review of the app based on his experience with it.   And there are some minor problems with the app that are holding it back from greantess.

” Skype itself works wonderfully. The only thing that bugs me is that the bluetooth is shoddy at best. I have a jawbone icon and it connects to my Droid 4 audio and media fine. When on skype, I can hear them on it, but the microphone still uses the phones and not the bluetooth, and then invideo calls it doesn’t even register that for anything. Please fix!”

“Email the devs before you complain about why its not working for you. If the devs don’t fix it in a week email them back. If they seem not to wanna fix it then send a bad review. I don’t see you guys making apps like this. How would u like for me to give u a 1 star and say this all sucks and it freezes all the time. Just talk to the devs before making rude comments.”

Skype is great and it works awesome on my HP laptop but it seem that with every Android Market update that comes out it gets more and more frustrating to use.  Lack of support and little usage on some devices make this app hard to deal with.  That being said, communication with family and loved ones is my main concern.  For alternatives check out Tango from the  Android Market.
