Android Market News App: CNN
For the first Android Market News app review we had to go with CNN, though it was hard to push FOX and NPR to the side-for now. All good things will come, though.
I made the mistake once of adding “CNN Breaking News” to my Twitter feed. I’ll never do that again. Do you know how much news that CNN produces that it doesn’t consider important enough to label as “breaking”? Very little. However, with the CNN news apps from the Android Market it was easy to remember why I liked the Cable News Network so much.
The CNN app is now available on all Android phones and has a 4.1 rating out of 5 stars on the Android Market Review page. It requires Android 2.1 or higher and takes up about 2.0M. However, it is FREE and if you need news then CNN has been the place to get it for a while. Are the skewed? Sure. If that bothers you too much though then just go and download the Fox News app and you’re sure to have the story from very different sides of the spectrum.
The CNN App from the Android Market Features Include:
Most users rate it pretty high, like “high 4s”, but there are a few that take exception to what some may consider “spammy” CNN content, as is the case
with this review comment from the Android Market review section of the app:
“I gave up on this OK app because Foxnews is sooo much better; this app has too many CNN ads – i spent half of my time with this app moving past the ads; it just wasn;t worth it for me to stick with the app.”
Many users seem to feel that CNN put an app out just to put an app out and not miss the Android train. That makes sense. With companies like Yahoo!, Google+ and even CNN, how much of a quality product are they really going to need? People are going to turn to these “mega” names in an attempt to keep their mobile phone as consistent with their laptops and desktops as possible. It’s just normal that they seek out the big names in the industries. The app does have 1.5k Google Plus One votes though.
Overall Android App Review: CNN is the place many call home for their news. The Android Market, of course, offers other alternatives but don’t get caught short by not having the world’s premiere news source downloaded and able to access on your Droid easily.

Spot on with this write-up, I really suppose this web site wants much more consideration. I’ll in all probability be once more to read far more, thanks for that info.
